Melanie Nazareth - Peel Regional Chair

Melanie Nazareth was born in Kenya, left at the age of 12 to study in England. Mel also lived for a short time in Saudi Arabia with her parents before venturing on her own to Canada in 1988.
In 1999 she joined Big Brothers, Big Sisters and also started to DJ in order to help with fundraising efforts.
In 2003 she joined the CWL at St. Joseph's, Streetsville and the very next year was President Elect. In 2007 while she was President at St. Joseph, her mother, Myrna, was also President at St. Martin of Tours. Since then Mel has held the positions of Historian, Community Life Chair, Education & Health and acting President. She also helped start the Funeral Ministry and Young at Heart Ministry at the parish.
Mel also volunteers her time within her community and has been on various committees.
The CWL has provided her with the opportunity to give back to our faith community and make a difference by putting others first, knowing God will take care of the home front.
As Peel Regional chair, Mel's goal is to grow our membership by welcoming a younger generation of women who will be advocates for social justice issues using social media and the vast knowledge of our more seasoned CWL members and to inspire women to take on leadership positions and realize what an amazing organization they belong to, that encompasses faith, fun, fellowship, service, leadership, political clout that is like no other parish ministry.
