Aurora Chavez- Peel Regional Chair
Aurora has been a member of the CWL since 2008 and has served on her parish council, Sts. Peter and Paul, Mississauga, as Education & Health Chair, President-Elect/Organization Chair, President and Historian.
At the Peel Regional Council, she was the Organization Chair (2017-2019). She facilitated the Parish Executive Training in 2018 and organized two successful Leadership & Public Speaking Courses in 2017 and 2018.
Aurora is active in her parish as a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound, a member of the Volunteer Screening Committee, coordinator of the Bereavement Ministry and Totus Tuus Summer Camp. She organized the Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle and the Catholic Girls’ League (CGL). The Catholic Girls’ League was inspired by her role as coordinator of the Totus Tuus Summer Camp and by her two young granddaughters, Tereza and Andrea. She sees the integral role the CGL has in guiding the girls on their spiritual journey. Aurora is now one of the counsellors to the girls. She is looking forward to spending more time with the girls, engaging and empowering them to achieve great things and to be of service to others.
Aurora is an engineer by profession and had worked as a Methods and System Analyst, project engineer and setting-up and managing quality control. Aurora is looking forward to continuing her League journey as Peel Regional Chair. .
